Arena Seating helps realise IMIE and Honda’s Impossible Dream
One of the most exciting attractions at this year’s British International Motorshow was a live action and music arena hosted by International Motor Industry Events (IMIE) Ltd and Honda, which required the help of Arena Seating to build.
By day the venue hosted Honda’s Dreamscape spectacle, in which the company’s most famous motorbikes and cars performed stunts. By night the venue was transformed into a live music area featuring concerts by UB40, Squeeze, Meatloaf, Blondie and Chicago.
Technical Director Robbie Wilson, of R&R Logistics, brought in Arena Seating to build the three banks of seating around the performance area, each of which seated about 1,000 spectators, giving space for a dramatic, yet safe performance by the cars and motorbikes, while allowing the arena to be converted to standing concert viewing in the evening.
The company provided 2,777 brand new Individual Plastic Tiered Tip Up Covered Seats, while also going the extra mile for Honda, who requested new, red canopies and grandstand sides to match their branding.
“The venue for the Honda Dreamscape event needed to be robust and practical as it welcomed nearly 3,000 people per show, with multiple performances day and night,” said Arena Seating’s Martin Clark. “We were delighted to be able to provide the seating for this event, co-ordinating with the tight production schedule while offering the level of comfort and safety that the organisers and public require.”
“It’s thanks to suppliers like Arena Seating that my company can shine,” says Robbie Wilson. “Arena did a fabulous job by providing the brand new equipment requested by the clients.”
