Arena Seating: this is not just any old AGM for M&S
When Marks & Spencer staged its AGM at Earls Court this July it took no risks with the event management. Leading experiential marketing agency Jack Morton Worldwide was invited to design the event, while Arena Seating was the natural choice providing seating solutions to the production.
“We are contracted to manage the seating at Earls Court,” said Martin Clark, Project Manager for Arena Seating. “But we will use our own stock if their seats aren’t available for any reason.”
The company installed 500 flat seats mounted on staging risers for the audience, as well as rear control platforms and a camera platform. Working with. Arena Seating worked closely with the team from Jack Morton and with Ray Simpson, Earls Court’s Technical Manager.
“For us, the project started with the arrival of a technical drawing from Earls Court explaining how they wanted to build the seating structure,” said Martin. “We programmed that into our operations department, built the seats and planned the staging to form the raised platforms. We then dovetailed this into the plans of the production team.”
The result was a smooth running event which remained true to M&S’s core brand values.
