Making tracks in Glasgow with Arena

The Norwich Union International Athletics in Scotstoun, Glasgow, provided some edge-of-the-seat moments for spectators, with the likes of Augustine Choge of Kenya proving he’s still the fastest man on earth and Tatyana Kotova leaping an extraordinary 6.56 metres.
Behind the scenes, the leading supplier of event seating, Arena Seating had its own challenges as it helped turn a Glasgow leisure centre running track into a temporary athletics arena ready for international television coverage. At the same time, the interior of the Scotstoun Leisure Centre had to be fitted out as an international badminton venue for a separate event, the World Team Badminton Championships.
Arena Seating was able to demonstrate its flexibility and logistical flair by installing the infrastructure for one event while another was in full flow. Outdoors, the company installed 2,268 covered seats and 669 uncovered seats, while indoors the company was installing a temporary 2,000 seat arena for the badminton.
